As a journalist, Manouk Akopyan’s experience includes holding the sports columnist and staff reporter position for his alma mater’s newspaper, being a broadcast reporter for KCSN 88.5 FM: Arts and Roots Radio and covering the high school sports beat for both the Crescenta Valley and La Cañada Valley Sun. He currently writes feature stories and blogs for Yerevan Magazine.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Akopyan’s passion and enthusiasm for everything sports and writing led him to earning a bachelors degree in Journalism from California State University, Northridge. He also holds an Associates in Arts degree in the Liberal Arts & Sciences along with a minor’s degree in History.
Additionally, he has displayed his love for journalism, writing and community service by mentoring the North Hollywood High School student newspaper, The Arcade, on the fundamentals of journalism and writing through classroom workshops.
Akopyan has also freelanced for Raptalk.net along with other websites and publications and is adept with most Web 2.0 sites and new media.
In his free time, Manouk enjoys obliterating friends and family in fantasy sports leagues and watching old sporting events from yesteryears.
